History

A million thanks to Steve for sharing some of his fantastic collection with me!

A billion thanks to Mohammad Ali Jinnah for all his efforts  for all of us.

In future we will be the witness that the history was written on 25th December.

History is a novel for which the people are the author.

Power

Everyone has the obligation to ponder well his own specific traits of character.

He must also regulate them adequately and not wonder whether someone else's traits might suit him better.

The more definitely his own a man's character is, the better it fits him.

Nearly all men can stand adversity, but if you want to test a man's character, give him power.

“Year’s end is neither an end nor a beginning, but a going on, with all the wisdom that experience can instill in us.”

What kind of experience are we sharing in the world.

We can Plant our Garden Today

We can Plant our Garden Today

First, plant 3 rows of peas;
Patience
Promptness
Prayer
Next, plant 3 rows of squash;
Squash gossip
Squash indifference
Squash criticism
Then, plant 3 rows of lettuce;
Let us be Loyal
Let us be true to our Obligations
Let us be unselfish
Finish, with 4 rows of turnip;
Turn up when Needed
Turn up with a Smile
Turn up with a Vision
Turn up with Determination

Weakness or Strength ?

Sometimes your biggest weakness can become your biggest strength. Take, for example, the story of one 10-year-old boy who decided to study judo despite the fact that he had lost his left arm in a devastating car accident.
The boy began lessons with an old Japanese judo master. The boy was doing well, so he couldn't understand why, after three months of training the master had taught him only one move.
"Sensei," the boy finally said, "Shouldn't I be learning more moves?"
"This is the only move you know, but this is the only move you'll ever need to know," the sensei replied.
Not quite understanding, but believing in his teacher, the boy kept training.
Several months later, the sensei took the boy to his first tournament. Surprising himself, the boy easily won his first two matches. The third match proved to be more difficult, but after some time, his opponent became impatient and charged; the boy deftly used his one move to win the match. Still amazed by his success, the boy was now in the finals.
This time, his opponent was bigger, stronger, and more experienced. For a while, the boy appeared to be overmatched. Concerned that the boy might get hurt, the referee called a time-out. He was about to stop the match when the sensei intervened.
"No," the sensei insisted, "Let him continue."
Soon after the match resumed, his opponent made a critical mistake: he dropped his guard. Instantly, the boy used his move to pin him. The boy had won the match and the tournament. He was the champion.
On the way home, the boy and sensei reviewed every move in each and every match. Then the boy summoned the courage to ask what was really on his mind.
"Sensei, how did I win the tournament with only one move?"
"You won for two reasons," the sensei answered. "First, you've almost mastered one of the most difficult throws in all of judo. And second, the only known defense for that move is for your opponent to grip your left arm."
The boy's biggest weakness had become his biggest strength.

ACTION

You are a stand-alone device.

You have to manage your own storage.

And you need to be confident enough to take the responsibility of any mistake done by you.

There are risks and costs to action.

But they are far less than the long range risks of comfortable inaction.

Words In Our Daily Life

No matter how simple precious gems of wisdom maybe,

Yet they have depth of actual learning that most oversee.

This is because they are taken aback by the mere string of words.

However, where the real essence is concerned,

It is what exists between each word.

The space between the words is where the meaning is hidden.

On meditating on proverbs can one actually learn the actual famous proverbs meanings and weave it into their lives…

Good Morning

A person who has come into my life has come either to teach me something, or to learn something from me.

You are Wonderful

A famous singer had been contracted to sing, and ticket sales were booming. In fact, the night of the concert found the house packed and every ticket sold. The feeling of anticipation and excitement was in the air as the house manager took the stage and said, "Ladies and gentlemen, thank you for your enthusiastic support.

I am afraid that due to illness, the man whom you've all come to hear will not be performing tonight. However, we have found a suitable substitute we hope will provide you with comparable entertainment." The crowd groaned in disappointment and failed to hear the announcer mention the stand-in's name. The environment turned from excitement to frustration.

The stand-in performer gave the performance everything he had. When he had finished, there was nothing but an uncomfortable silence. No one applauded.

Suddenly, from the balcony, a little boy stood up and shouted, "Daddy, I think you are wonderful!" The crowd broke into thunderous applause.
We all need people in our Lives who are willing to stand up once in a while and say,

"I think you are wonderful. "

A little girl and her father were crossing a bridge.

The father was kind of scared so he asked his little daughter:

"Sweetheart, please hold my hand so that you don't fall into the river." The little girl said:

"No, Dad. You hold my hand."

"What's the difference?" Asked the puzzled father.

"There's a big difference," replied the little girl.

"If I hold your hand and something happens to me, chances are that I may let your hand go. But if you hold my hand, I know for sure that no matter what happens, you will never let my hand go."

In any relationship, the essence of trust is not in its bind, but in its bond. So hold the hand of the person whom you love rather than expecting them to hold yours...

TRUSY

We need to trust ourselves.

Create the kind of self that we will be happy to live with ……all our life.

Someone's opinion of us does not have to become our reality.

I was always looking outside myself for strength and confidence but it comes from within.

It is there all the time.

Action and reaction,

Ebb and flow,

Trial and error,

Change - this is the rhythm of living.

Out of our over-confidence we end up in fear;

Out of our fear we find clearer vision,

Fresh hope.

And out of hope, we ALWAYS proceed towards Progress.

What a wonderful sequence

"Any intelligent fool can make things bigger,
More complex,
And more violent very easily.
BUT
It takes a touch of genius –
And a lot of courage – Passion +Determination
To move in the opposite direction in the right direction ."

What you need to do is to never forget the importance of history.

To know nothing of what happened before you, you took your place on earth.

Being you is one the best things that could have happened to you .

So is true anybody can make history. Only a great one can write it.

What are you doing? Making or Writing

GUIDE TO A BETTER LIFE

Greetings of Peace!

Interesting philosophy but the some of these are really hard to follow
but not so hard to read though.

This is amazing, Randy Pausch 47 yrs old, A computer Sc. lecturer from
Mellon Universityhe died of pancreatic cancer in 2008, but wrote a
book ‘The last lecture” before then, one of the bestsellers in 2007.
What a legacy to leave behind…
In a letter to his wife Jai and his children, Dylan, Logan, and Chloe,
he wrote this beautiful "guide to a better life" for his wife and
children to follow.
May you be blessed by his insight.

POINTS ON HOW TO IMPROVE YOUR LIFE

Personality:
1. Don't compare your life to others'. You have no idea what their
journey is all about.
2. Don't have negative thoughts of things you cannot control. Instead
invest your energy in the positive present moment
3. Don't over do; keep your limits
4. Don't take yourself so seriously; no one else does
5. Don't waste your precious energy on gossip
6. Dream more while you are awake
7. Envy is a waste of time. You already have all you need..
8. Forget issues of the past. Don't remind your partner of his/her
mistakes of the past. That will ruin your present happiness.

10. Make peace with your past so it won't spoil the present
11. No one is in charge of your happiness except you
12. Realize that life is a school and you are here to learn.
Problems are simply part of the curriculum that appear and fade away
like algebra class but the lessons you learn will last a lifetime.
13. Smile and laugh more
14. You don't have to win every argument. Agree to disagree.

Community:
15. Call your family often
16. Each day give something good to others
17. Forgive everyone for everything
18. Spend time with people over the age of 70 & under the age of 6
19. Try to make at least three people smile each day
20. What other people think of you is none of your business
21. Your job will not take care of you when you are sick. Your family
and friends will. Stay in touch.

Life:
22. Do the right things
23. However good or bad a situation is, it will change
24. No matter how you feel, get up, dress up and show up
25. The best is yet to come
26. Get rid of anything that isn't useful, beautiful or joyful
