Talking
about work ethics, Al-Sheikh Zahrai, a renowned muslim scholar, said in his
address to a Jumma congregation:
"Considering
the muslim ummah as whole, the way work is done today in offices and business
places is largely at a variance with the way Allah expects us to do some,
consider it enough to be in a office on time and to stay there till the closing
time, they do not bother to evaluate how effectively their time was utilized;
were they productive or did they just while away part of their time in gossip
and other wasteful activities, the latter is a Khayanat (breach of
trust)".
Almost all
of us are guilty of this breach. We need to realize it and take measures to
avoid it.
